Amanda was born and raised in York, PA along with her sister, Alyssa. Amanda & Alyssa were only one year apart in school and remain very close to this day.
Amanda was involved in everything growing up – swimming, gymnastics, dance, cheerleading, basketball, softball, volleyball, soccer, and more. You name it, she did it! She’s grateful to have supportive parents who provided her the opportunity to explore so many extracurriculars, and it’s something she looks forward to offering her child(ren) one day.
Amanda graduated from York Catholic High School and went on to the University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT, where she played Division 1 basketball. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree and a minor in Psychology. Afterward, she pursued her passion for healthcare at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in Baltimore, MD, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Amanda began her nursing career as a bedside oncology nurse. Over time, she advanced in her profession, taking on more leadership roles, and is currently a Manager of Medical Case Managers for Paradigm. She works fully remote from our home office.
Amanda values times spent with family and friends. Amanda's family still resides in York, PA and is comprised of many toddler relatives, including Amanda & Rishi's 4 year old niece, Eden! Amanda cherishes and maintains her friendships from all chapters of her life - high school, college, time living in Baltimore, and beyond.
In addition to the hobbies Amanda and Rishi enjoy sharing, Amanda also loves reading, cooking, exercising, doing arts and crafts, and decorating their home for holidays and seasons.
What Rishi says about Amanda:
I met Amanda in my late 20s, after having lived in Baltimore for about five years. During that time, I balanced a mix of activities, from playing in intramural sports leagues to socializing on weekends and focusing on building my career.
It didn’t take long after meeting Amanda and going on a few dates to realize, “Wow, I might marry this girl.” Her smile, curiosity, heart of a lion, and natural beauty were a combination I could only dream of. As I learned more about how she experienced her 20s—so differently from my own—I found my adoration and respect for her growing even deeper.
Amanda bravely overcame cancer and recently celebrated her 12th year cancer-free! I quickly saw what a massive heart she has for helping others. Inspired by the exceptional care she received during her illness, she decided to become a nurse herself. Amanda has a courageous outlook on life, consistently prioritizes the well-being of others, and cares for her family and friends in a way like no one I’ve ever seen.
She has been incredibly supportive during my career shift into Medical Device Sales, which has taken us from Baltimore, MD to Virginia. We've experienced so many new things together, and this next chapter of becoming parents is beyond exciting!
