About Rishi

Rishi was born and raised in Maryland. His parents immigrated from India in the early 1980’s, quickly acclimating to culture and life in the US. His Dad worked with IBM for 30+ years as an IT consultant, while his Mom took a break from her career to help raise Rishi and his sister, Anjali.

Rishi and Anjali were close growing up and remain so today. They spent their childhood participating in academics rigorously while also playing many sports, being active in clubs, and spending time with many friends in the community.

Rishi has a huge extended family with 25+ 1st and 2nd cousins that have been a big part of his life. As most of our parents raised us as first-generation US-born, we had an immediate appreciation for different cultures and norms. This extended to our family’s annual trips abroad over the holidays, including trips to Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean.

After leaving Maryland for college, Rishi truly took off from being a nerdy chess-playing and Math team captain, to an outgoing, extroverted person. His confidence grew as he became a leader in his Fraternity, went on cross-country road trips with friends, and ultimately shifted from his studies in Engineering into a career of Sales and Marketing.

Upon graduating from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland OH, Rishi worked a few jobs before settling in Baltimore, MD. Charm City is where he built up an amazing social circle and supportive group of friends. After several years working with DAP Products in Baltimore, Rishi pursued an MBA and came to Stryker, where he currently works a Medical Device Sales Rep in Central Virginia. He spends most of his time supporting surgeons and OR staff in and around the hospitals nearby. He truly loves the work he does and appreciates the balance that it provides him to enjoy hobbies in his free time, too.

Intertwined in those Baltimore years was when he met the love of his life, Amanda. Their relationship grew fast and they made 2 different homes their own while living in the city for 6+ years. Weekly social sporting events, weekend trips to farmers markets, and plenty of time on roads and in the air have led to us building an incredible life together so far. Baltimore remains close to our heart, mainly due to the connections we forged during our time there.

Rishi remains involved in the community and finds his free time either on a golf course, researching the next stock to invest in, or planning the next trip for he and Amanda. To date, Rishi has visited 37 countries and has a goal of visiting 50 by 50! Our kids will see the world and appreciate all it has to offer.

Life in Crozet, Virginia has been refreshing as a change of pace from city life to Mountain Views. The career move to Stryker, alongside Amanda’s promotions within her career, have helped provide us with the financial stability to confidently raise our children in the best environment possible.

Being a Dad has always been a dream of his. Rishi has been blessed with parents who have taught him so much about life. Rishi is so excited to raise children alongside Amanda, who will be an amazing mother.

What Amanda says about Rishi:

I was initially drawn to Rishi's fun and infectious personality, but I fell in love with him because of his deep love for family, his care and compassion for others, his trustworthiness, and his perfect balance between a strong work ethic and a genuine ability to enjoy life. Rishi has an incredible ability to connect with anyone and light up any room he enters. What truly sets him apart, though, is his rare gift for being fully present and offering you his complete, undivided attention.

His extroverted and adventurous nature is contagious, and the way he shares his experiences—whether it’s planning a trip, dressing up to entertain our niece, or calling me over to the window to admire a beautiful sunset—always warms my heart.

Rishi’s excitement and desire to become a dad is unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed. He is wholeheartedly committed to the adoption process, and I have no doubt he will be an extraordinary father to our future child(ren), who will be incredibly lucky to have him as their dad. I am truly honored to be his partner and to share this journey of life with him.
